We’re back in #Chicago and happy to be exploring one of our favorite neighborhoods in the city: Chinatown! In this video, we share with you our experience taking the #Chinatown Walking Tour organized by the Chicago Chinese Cultural Institute. We learned why Chinese residents decided to settle in this area of the city, about the difference between Old and New Chinatown, about some of the more important institutions supporting the residents and stopped by different attractions, including the beautiful Ping Tom Park. And of course, we couldn’t complete the video without giving you a sample of the amazing food you’ll find here. So we stopped by Qing Xiang Yuan on Wentworth Avenue, specializing in several dozen varieties of dumplings. We hope you enjoy this video and let us know in the comments below about your favorite spots in Chinatown.

—– About Kimchi and Beans —–
A husband and wife team, our channel is an extension of our Kimchi & Beans blog and magazine. We’re based in Chicago and we enjoy working on recipe development for brands, food styling, and short travel features about the Midwest, the US and the world. Kimchi and Beans began as a fun way to honor our Caribbean and Korean backgrounds, as well as the diversity that drives our stories. You can expect videos and posts that touch on our upbringing, our experience living in various US cities, traveling abroad and how it all translates to the food we cook at home.
