A tribute to Alexander Kouvalis, “The Wizard of Austin Boulevard,” who saved one of the last Chicago movie palaces from being torn down and being replaced by a McDonalds. Kouvalis passed away on October 2. His son, Demitri is running the theater now. Wild Chicago visited the theater in fall of 1993.
